On November 1, 2019, History Boy Theatre of Jefferson will host actress and playwright Diana Star Helmer in her one-woman show, I Like Mamie: Ike’s First Lady. The play imagines First Lady Mamie Doud Eisenhower visiting her birthplace of Boone, Iowa, to stump for her husband’s 1956 re-election.  I Like Mamie begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students age 18 and under, available at the door or from History Boy Theatre.
