The Jefferson Municipal Pool is getting ready to close for the year and there’s one annual event that is happening on the final day that the pool is open.
Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Denny Hammen says the Doggie Paddle takes place from 5-6pm on Sunday. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio this is an opportunity for canines and their owners to enjoy swimming in the pool as a way to close down the season. Hammen notes that owners are responsible for the behavior of their pets, the dogs must be on leashes and are current on their vaccines and licensing. This is a free will donation event with all proceeds benefiting the Greene County Animal Shelter.
