A man was arrested at a Jamaica residence Monday morning after confronting Guthrie County Chief Deputy Jeremy Bennett and another man with a large butcher knife.
Deputy Michael Herbert says around 9 a.m. Bennett responded to a civil call at a residence in the 300 block of 1st avenue so that a man could speak to his daughter.
During the meeting, Chief Deputy Bennett and the man were confronted by Doug McDaniel, who was armed with a 9 inch butcher knife. A short standoff occurred before McDaniel surrendered his knife and was taken into custody.
He’s charged with an aggravated misdemeanor count of Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon and was booked into the Guthrie County jail on $2,000 bond.
