Friday, May 27th
A deputy was asked to stand by and possibly assist a Jefferson Police Officer with a call in Jefferson. The deputy was not needed at that time.
A deputy was dispatched to the Lake Side Golf Course for an alarm activation. The buildings were found to be secure.
The Greene County Sheriff’s office, assisted by the Jefferson Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of East Perry Street in Jefferson and subsequently arrested Tyson James Ruth 35, of Jefferson, and Joey Ann Godwin 35, also of Jefferson, for Criminal Trespass, Possession of stolen Property -Theft 5th and Theft 2 nd Degree, Possession of a Controlled substance- methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
A deputy was advised by the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office of a gas drive off that occurred in Bagley and the vehicle belonging to a Greene County resident. The vehicle and driver was not located at that time.
A deputy, Churdan Fire and Rescue , the Jefferson Fire Department and Greene County EMS were all dispatched to 402 Perkins Street in Churdan for a fire that had started around a window air conditioning unit in the home. The home had extensive fire and water damage.
The Sheriff was advised of a civil concern involving personal property not being returned to a Greene County resident.
A deputy was advised of a burglary and theft of tools from a residence in the 400 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction.
A deputy was advised of a possible burglary and theft of property from a rural residence in the 2300 block of 260th Street.
A deputy was dispatched to Spring Lake to unlock a vehicle in which a child had locked herself into. The child was found to be unharmed after the deputy unlocked the vehicle.
A deputy assisted a jailor with transporting a Greene County female inmate to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room for an emergency medical procedure.
A deputy was advised of an elderly male subject that had not returned to a rural residence in the 1000 block of H Avenue. The elderly male was later located by a Webster County Deputy after he was involved in an accident.
A deputy was dispatched for an alarm activation at the Lake Side Golf Course. The deputy and the key holder found the buildings to be secure.
Saturday, May 28th
A deputy was asked to check the welfare of a female in the 600 block of North 18th Street in Grand Junction that had not returned to work for several days. The female was found to be safe.
A deputy was advised of the possible theft of a dog from a rural residence in the 1500 block of 120 th Street. The theft was determined to be a civil issue between past cohabitating adults.
A deputy was advised of a dog running at large in the 800 block of Percival Street in Grand Junction. The deputy was investigating multiple traffic accidents and unable to respond to the call.
A deputy, the Jefferson Fire Department, Greene County Emergency Medical Services and Midland Power Cooperative were all dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident that occurred on Highway 30 between O and P Avenues. A 2015 GMC Acadia SLT-2 that was being driven Dale Leroy Musser 58, of Boone, was westbound on Highway 30 when his vehicle entered the ditch, rolled several times and struck a utility pole, shearing it off. Dale Messer and two passengers in his vehicle were all transported to the Greene County Medical Center for further evaluation. The airbags deployed and all occupants were reported to be wearing their seat belts. Damage to the vehicle was estimated to be $10,000.
A deputy was advised by Calhoun County Officials of a single vehicle rollover accident that occurred on 100 th Street near B Avenue just into Greene County. A Calhoun County Deputy assisted and was on scene before the Greene County Deputy’s arrival. The driver of the 2002 Mercury Mountaineer, Lucas Michael Wolf 22, of Glidden, was transported to the Lake City Hospital before the deputy’s arrival. Wolfe was later transported to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines by Life Flight for reported head injuries. Damage to the vehicle was reported to be $5,000.
A deputy was advised of an alarm activation at the Lake Side Golf Course. The building were found to be secure.
A deputy was advised of the possible violation of a no-contact order that occurred in Boone County and not in Greene County. Boone County was provided a copy of the no-contact order.
A deputy was advised that a jail inmate needed medical attention and was being transported by a transport officer to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room for medical services.
Sunday, May 29th
A deputy was dispatched to put down a large possum at a rural residence in the 1900 block of E Avenue.
A deputy was dispatched to a reported single vehicle rollover accident that occurred on the Highway 144 diagonal just north of Rippey. The driver and owner of the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was not at the accident scene upon the deputy’s arrival. The Dallas and Greene County Hospitals were advised of the accident and at that time had not given medical attention to anyone involved in an accident. The deputy later determined that the driver was Nicolas Lani Dean Nicolaisen 24, of Bouton, Iowa. He reported that he walked to his mother’s home in Rippey after the accident and received medical attention the next morning. Nicolaisen was issued citations for Failure to Maintain Control and Open Container-Driver 21 Years and Older. Damage was estimated to be $5,000 to the pickup.
A deputy was dispatched to the Landus Cooperative in Churdan for a reported strong odor of anhydrous. The deputy located the tank in question and advised an employee. The leak and odor was soon stopped.
A deputy was dispatched to the 700 block of Sandoe Street in Grand Junction for a noise concern. The source of the music was determined and the homeowner was advised.
A deputy was dispatched to the Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction for a gas drive off. The vehicle and driver were identified and advised that they will return and pay for the fuel.
A deputy was dispatched to Highlander Apartments in Churdan for a barking dog concern. The dog was removed by its owner before the deputy’s arrival.
A deputy was advised of a vehicle that was parked along the bike trail near the Raccoon River trestle bridge. The car’s owner was fishing and was not in violation of any regulations.
A deputy was advised of a distraught male subject that might inflict harm upon himself.
A deputy was dispatched to the 2200 block of S Avenue to investigate what was thought to be a burglary and theft of personal property. It was later determined that a relative had opened the garage door and had taken his personal effects.
Monday, May 30th
A deputy checked a vehicle experiencing mechanical difficulties on Highway 30 near S Avenue. The car was placed on the 24 hour removal list.
A deputy was asked to check the welfare of a male subject that was in the Ames area and returning to the 1800 block of 277th Street.
A deputy was dispatched to a residential alarm in the 2200 block of R Avenue. The building site was found to be secure.
A deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of Ball Street in Churdan to investigate a verbal altercation that occurred earlier in the day at the city park.
A wallet that was found along the road on Highway 30 east of Jefferson was brought to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center to return to the owner.
A deputy was assisted by an Iowa State Patrol Officer with helping mediate a verbal civil disagreement at a residence in the 900 block of Main Street East in Grand Junction.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
