This weekend will be a busy one in the Perry area with several events planned.

One of which is the John Glass Memorial Kids Fest.

Glass was responsible for organizing the first event two years ago and after he passed away recently, other Carnegie Library volunteers decided to continue the festival in his honor.

Bob Wilson with the Perry Chamber says it will be a fun event with a variety of free things to enjoy.

“You’re going to have all kinds of opportunities to do snack crafts with Bethany Wicks, Zach Stewart with his amazing card tricks, there’s a facepainter, there this crazy balloon animal guy who you have to go check out even the adults will have fun with that.  Forest Park Museum is involved with this, there’s more magic, crafts at the Perry Public Library as well.  There’s a LEGO event with games and prizes, I know LEGOs are huge right now with the kids.”

It all takes place at the Carnegie Library Museum and Perry Public Library Saturday from 10:30am until 3:30pm.  The Perry Fire Department will also have lunch items available for purchase.
