Two men were arrested after shots were fired early Sunday morning in Adair.
The Adair County Sheriff’s office says they responded to a fight in the 600 block of Stuart Street just after 1:30 a.m. Two suspects, later identified as Keith Franklin and Shawn Conn, were asked to leave the residence but refused, before firing two shots and fleeing the scene. Deputies arrested the suspects a short time later. Shell casings and a bullet from the firearm were recovered at the scene.
Franklin was charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, reckless use of a firearm, disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Conn was released with no charges filed.
The Adair County Sheriff’s office was assisted by Sheriff’s offices from Audubon, Cass, Guthrie and Shelby counties, and the Iowa State Patrol.
