As we’ve reported, there are three Republican candidates vying for the party’s nomination for the second district spot on the Dallas County Board of Supervisors.
One of them is Doug Beavers who says it has been a lifelong goal of his to run for office.
“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and just really haven’t had the time and I’m in a position in my life now where I think I can manage this and I feel it’s time for a change.”
When asked what he feels the top issues facing the county are, Beavers noted the rapidly growing population.
“Number one is the growth of the county. We’ve seen tremendous growth and we need to get in front of it. It seems like now we’re kind of just going along with the flow, putting band-aids on issues. We need to see if we can get a vision and get ahead of the growth.”
We will continue to share more about Beavers and the other candidates, Eric Rose and Mark Hanson, leading up to the primary election on June 7th.
