Coon Rapids native singer-songwriter Chad Elliott takes his folksy-blues act all around the country. He’s recently returned home for some local shows, including a stop at the Warren Cultural Center in Greenfield Saturday night.
Elliott says it’s always a joy performing in front of the people that inspired his music and serve as characters in his songs. “It’s funny to tell stories about songs written right in that region. It’s almost like you don’t have to tell the stories, but I still do, because I think it helps people connect even deeper to the songs that way. I was just on the east coast, doing shows in New York City and Boston and I still tell those stories about Guthrie County and growing up in Iowa. It’s funny to find that those stories are relatable across the country. When I’m looking at some of the people that are in those songs, in the audience, it really brings everything home for me.”
Elliott will tell us about upcoming performances and other projects he’s working on today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
