“Frustrating” is the word District 10 Senator Jake Chapman uses to describe this year’s legislative session and he feels Iowans are just as frustrated as lawmakers.
“When I came into office four years ago I made some promises and I’ve tried diligently to keep those promises. One of those promises I have diligently kept is trying to control government appetite for spending. Little did I know how great that appetite really is in Des Moines. I’ve continuously said, we have to take measure now to control this spending problem.”
Chapman says lawmakers work for the people and when household incomes are being outpaced almost two-to-one with the growth of government, there is a large concern for both the current and future budgets.
