A Perry man faces several charges, including a felony for drug possession, after a traffic stop Saturday.
Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn tells Raccoon Valley Radio officers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation, around 1:30am Saturday, in the 1200 block of Estella. The driver, 46 year-old Anthony David Rothmeyer’s license was found to be suspended due to non-payment of fines. While arresting Rothmeyer, officers found two small baggies that later field tested positive for methamphetamine. Because the suspect has already been convicted of possession of a controlled substance twice, Saturday’s incident resulted in a Class D Felony charge. Rothmeyer also faces misdemeanor charges for unlawful possession of prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia, and driving under the influence.
He was booked into the Dallas County jail and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
