A double fatality claims the life of an Adair man and injures an Adair woman near Anita Saturday morning.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 27 year-old Tara Norton of West Des Moines was traveling west on White Pole Road, west of 760th Street in Cass County, when her 2005 Buick Lesabre left the roadway and onto the gravel shoulder. Norton then overcorrected, causing her to lose control of her vehicle, sliding it into the eastbound lane colliding with a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan that was driven by 63 year-old Constance Snyder of Adair. Both vehicles came to a rest in the south ditch.
Norton and Constance’s passenger, 70 year-old James Snyder also of Adair, were killed in the accident. Constance was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines with injuries, the extent of which is not known at this time.
The report shows all three victims were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Cass and Adair County Sheriff’s offices, Atlantic Police Department, Anita Rescue and Midwest Medair assisted at the scene.
