Perry School Board to Consider Security and Heat Pump Bids

The Perry Community School District Board of Education will meet in regular session Monday.

Items on the agenda include reports on the Raccoon River Valley Trail to High Trestle Trail connector project, a recent visit to the Solon school district to see how they use standards based grading, information on the summer reading pilot program and a Perry’s Academic Cultural Enrichment Services (PACES) update.

The Board will then consider bids for security upgrades, approve a bid to replace the heat pumps at the elementary school, approval of a tentative master contract with the district’s Support Staff Association and approval of the staff roster.

Special services group and administrator contracts will then be considered, along with summer wages and fees for PACES and summer food service.

District fundraisers, instructional and activity fees, a trip to Kentucky for the SkillsUSA team, board policy revisions and personnel changes will also be considered for approval.

The meeting takes place at 6pm in the Brady Library at Perry High School.

 

Dallas County Supervisors to Discuss Drivers Licenses and Board Member Numbers

The Dallas County Board of Supervisors will meet in regular session Tuesday.

Items on the agenda include a weed notice resolution, approval of temporary closures of F-31 east of Minburn and R-16 south of Highway 6, consideration of support for Perry’s United States Department of Agriculture grant application, and a resolution in regards to drainage district 13 along with appointment of an engineer for the project.

The Supervisors will then further discuss the courthouse and north campus landscape plan, get updates on space planning and the north campus projects, discuss the issuance of driver’s licenses and hold an open meetings law workshop.

That evening the Board will reconvene at 5:30pm to hold a joint mayors meeting to discuss possibly increasing the number of Supervisors from three to five.

The meeting starts at 9am in the Board of Supervisors meeting room in Adel.
