bike monthNow that May is here it’s officially Bike Month and Perry will be celebrating in a big way with several events and activities planned.

Today kicks off Bike to School Week and Parks and Recreation Director John Anderson has a challenge for local students.

“We’re challenging the elementary kids to bike to school, and if they can get to school on their bikes three to four times during the week, they can come into the recreation center after school and kind of report in, and we’ll keep track of how many times they do it.  Then at the end of the week on Friday they can come in at 3:30 and decorate their bikes.  We’ll have a parade through Wiese Park.  Everyone can join, we’ll provide some pizza and have a little party in the park.”

The program is free to participate in.  If you have questions, call the McCreary Community Building at 465-5621.
