The Perry Jayette track team was back on the outdoor scene last night after a lengthy layoff due to weather. Matt Hardy took his Jayettes to Carroll last night for the annual running of the Tiger Co-ed Relays. Perry placed 6th out of 8 teams finishing with 50 points. Carroll won the meet with 133 points while IKM-Manning took 2nd with 90.5 points.
The Perry 4×800 captured the lone first place on the night winning the event in a time of 10:55 flat. Sidney Vancil, Breanna Penenger, Mariah Duffy and Emma Olejniczak were all solid in the win. Olejniczak finished 3rd in the open 800 with a time of 2:43.69. Grace Stewart was solid in 2 events placing 2nd in the 1500 in a time of 5:43.19 and 2nd in the 3000 clocked at 12:11.34. Duffy finished right behind her in the 1500 placing 3rd at 5:48.77. Taylor Lathrum provided points in the shot put for the second straight meet placing 2nd with a throw of 33-4 ¾. Vancil scored points for Perry in the 400 placing 6th and the Jayette Distance Medley also secured team points with a 5th place finish.
