West Central Valley sophomore Rylan Heffernan has set a new personal best in the two-mile run. A state qualifier in cross country, head coach Tony Hooper says Heffernan’s PR came in exciting fashion last week at East Union. “That was an entertaining race, because he ended up outrunning the Nodaway Valley kid that beat him at the Graceland University indoor and Rylan got him this time and ran a 10:35.”

Heffernan and the rest of the Wildcats head to Earlham for a 4:30 meet this afternoon.
