The Perry boys soccer team defeated Winterset Tuesday night in the Raccoon River Conference opener 2-1 in a shootout.  Perry connected on 4 of 5 shoot out goals to secure the victory. Ian Velasco, Alvaro Soto, Ivan Garcia and Jesus Rodriguez provided the shoot out offense.  David Cardenas scored the lone goal for Perry.  Head Coach Gary Overla was hoping for a more dynamic offense this season but the Bluejays are still relying on their stingy defense after the first 4 games.  Perry has scored only 4 regulation goals in their first 4 games but have allowed only 4 regulation goals as well.  The Jays (2-2) will look to kick start their offense Thursday night with another home conference match with Carlisle.
