Perry area community members are asked to consider helping pack food for the needy next month.
The Perry Lutheran Home will host a Meals from the Heartland packing event on Wednesday, May 4th.
Residents, tenants, their families and staff members will be participating in the event though the public is welcome to sign up for a 60 minute shift as well. The Lutheran Home will have three tables set up with 10 work stations at each. Participants will be filling up bags and boxes with food that will then be distributed nationally and internationally.
The event will take place from 10am until 4pm. Anyone wanting to volunteer can call the Perry Lutheran Home at 465-5342 to sign up.
