The West Central Valley boys golf team had their first competition of the season on Friday afternoon, at Knoxville. Head coach Jim Leavell says they beat one of their rivals in Clarke of Osceola, but lost to one of the best teams in Class 3A, in Knoxville. “We shot 196 for a team score, which is an average of about 50 for our average. Clarke shot a 207, so they were a little bit above 50 as an average. We beat Clarke by a few, but we were behind Knoxville by quite a ways.”
The Wildcats compete again Thursday at the Menlo 5×80.
