It was another successful year for the Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart campaign in Greene County.
Organizer Lori Danner says second through eighth graders in the Greene County School District raised $12,776 for the American Heart Association during the first few weeks in February. She appreciates the hard work that the kids put into the fundraiser.
“The kids have done a wonderful job. They now promote technology with this fundraiser. So the students are learning how to work on the computer with online donations, much less going out and how to be a citizen and how to be a caring individual.”
She also would like to thank the community for helping with their efforts.
“They know that it’s early February and I think they know that it’s going to be Hoops for Heart time. I think the people in this area and in this community just do a wonderful job of supporting our cause.”
Physical education teachers Sean Thompson and Ryan Eberly also helped organizing the event.
All proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.
