Highlights of the event, which begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15th at Guthrie Center High School, include a free-will offering dinner, kids games, free donkey rides, barnyard bingo and the main event of Donkeyball.

Organizer Shannon Neff-Muell says community leaders form teams for the game, which is essentially basketball played on a donkey with some rules adjustments. “From my understanding, in order to pass or shoot the ball, you have to be on your donkey or hold on to its rope. They are live animals so they can buck you off if they don’t want you on them.”

Tickets for the event cost $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Kids 2 and under are free. Neff-Muell will tell us more about the event today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
