perry logoThe Perry City Council met in regular session Monday.

At the meeting, following a public hearing the Board approve a bid from Manatts Inc. for the hot mix asphalt resurfacing project in the amount of $779,486.

April 4th was set as the date for the sale of $2.7 million in bonds for the purpose of street and bridge improvements, the installation of traffic signals and refunding 2008 general obligation corporate purpose bonds.

The final plat of Zagar Acres was approved as presented and and a public hearing in regards to the assessment of wind energy conversion property was set for the April 4th Council meeting.

Next the Council agreed to provide funds to offset $1,366 in travel costs for the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance who recently represented Perry’s certified sites at the Site Selectors Guild Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

A federal excess equipment agreement with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry was then approved so the volunteer fire department can continue to utilize equipment from the DNR.

Liz Miner-Hix and Harlyn McGuire were then re-appointed to the Perry Airport Commission and the second readings of ordinance amendments in regards to wind energy conversion property, grass and noxious weeds and the rental code were also approved.
