Greene County Iowa State University Extension is offering some commercial and private pesticide courses later this month.

Extension Director Lori Mannel says the ornamental and turfgrass applicator training for commercial pesticide applicators will be at 9am on Wednesday, March 2nd at the Extension office in Jefferson. It is for categories 3O, 3T, 3OT and 10. A certified handlers course for commercial pesticide applicators will be on Monday, March 22nd. Each class is $35.

Private pesticide recertification will take place on Tuesday, March 15th at 1:30pm at Clover Hall on the fairgrounds in Jefferson. Mannel points out that this is only a recertification course.

“So if you’ve already been tested (and) you’ve gone through it, you come to us. If you need the test, we’re going to send you somewhere else. We do not provide the testing, we provide the recertification.”

The class is $20. Pre-registration is required for any of the courses by calling the Extension office at 386-2138.
