It’s been a wild ride for the ADM Lady Tiger basketball team for a 2015-16 season that saw a lot of improvement. Unfortunately for Lady Tiger basketball, the 2015-2016 season has dribbled it’s last for the year.
The Lady Tigers took on the second ranked team in all of class 4A in the Lewis Central Titans. Both teams played similar offensive and defensive styles of basketball but it was the Titans who cam out on top in Regional final action last night, winning by the final score of 50-33. The always reliable ADM defense stood their ground and held the Titans leading scorer (Meagan Holt) from her 16 point average down to just 11 points on the contest. The Titans proved to be a little too much for the Lady Tigers however, as the Tiger offense couldn’t seem to get in rhythm.
The Tigers had quite a few turnovers on the night as they saw a heavy dose of 2-1-2 and 1-2-2 full court pressure defensive packages, and with an off shooting night the Tigers could not mount a similar comeback against the Fillies against the Titans last night in the regional finals. Lewis Central ended each quarter with at least 10 points while ADM took all the way until the fourth quarter to break into the double digit scoring column.
Sydney Bertman led all Tiger scoring with 11 points followed by Brianna Mueller with 10 points. Wilson led all Titan scoring with 12, followed by leading scorer Holt with 11 points and Pomrenke, also with 11 points on the contest.
The Lady Tigers overall had a much improved year and as head coach Corey Schneider told Raccoon Valley Radio, he’s very proud of what this year’s Tigers squad has accomplished.
The Tigers will end their season with a 13-11 overall record.
