Two fundraisers in Perry this past weekend brought in thousands of dollars to help area youth.
The Kiwanis Club’s annual Pancake Day served around 800 people at the McCreary Community building Saturday. President Abi Albrecht says they raised more than $6,000 which will be put back into the community and specifically the youth in Perry. She thanks everyone who came out and supported the club and adds that they’re already looking forward to next year’s event.
The Perry Band Olympics also went off without a hitch Saturday. Band Director Brandon Weeks says the students dis an awesome job and the contest ran without any problems. Though exact figures are still being totaled, he says the high school band profited between $6,000 and $7,000 at the annual event.
