A flood warning remains in effect for Dallas and Greene counties due to rising levels of the North Raccoon River.
An ice jam is believed to be to blame for the flooding, along with high soil moisture levels.
According to the National Weather Service, the effected area stretches from the North Raccoon River near Perry and the Greene and Dallas county line to Adel.
Minor flooding is occurring and forecast to continue through Wednesday. Potential impacts near Perry include flooded farmland and waste water treatment facilities, Adel faces flooding at the fairgounds, golf course and Sportsman’s Club Road.
As always, if you encounter flooded waters, move to higher ground immediately and be especially cautious at night when it’s harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
