A flood warning remains in effect for potions of Dallas County until Wednesday afternoon.
An ice jam is believed to be to blame for the flooding, as it slowly moves south along the Des Moines River.
According to the National Weather Service, the effected area stretches from the North Raccoon River near Perry or the Greene and Dallas county line to Adel.
Minor flooding is occurring and forecast to continue through Wednesday. As of Monday morning, the North Raccoon River near Perry was around a quarter of a foot over flood stage and the Middle Raccoon River near Bayard was more than a foot over flood stage.
As always, if you encounter flooded waters, move to higher ground immediately and be especially cautious at night when it’s harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
