Guthrie County Extension Office Coordinator Vicki Frohling says snow can provide protection from cold and drying effects of the sun and wind.

When wet and heavy snow falls, Frohling warns it may weigh down and damage tree branches and limbs. She recommends gently brushing off that snow with a broom.
