Those of us with pets may need to pay extra attention to them this holiday season.

Panora P.E.T.S volunteer Linda Shelley says it’s a good idea to explain rules of the house to your holiday guests. “Remind your guests, because some of them don’t have pets, to not give your animal food from the table. Keep their purses and things with cigarettes, medication and other dangerous items up and away from your pets.”

Shelley says many of the foods we eat during the holidays are much too rich for our pets to properly digest.
