Greene County fell to 2-6 in girls’ basketball with a non-conference loss Monday night in Winterset on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com to the Huskies, 42-19. Both teams are now 2-6 after Winterset led from start to finish. Macy Johnson scored 10 points for Winterset, who had seven players score points, six of whom had at least five. The Huskies led 21-10 at halftime and built the lead to 24 points late in the contest.
Greene County had seven points from sophomore Laurin Lyons. Junior Kenna Marquardt suffered an apparent ankle injury just 2:31 in to the contest and she did not return to the court.
The Rams play in Boone tonight on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com against the Class 4A number 15 Toreadors. Coverage starts at 5:45 p.m. with the girls at 6 and the boys to follow.
