After the ADM boys basketball team nearly saw a 20 point lead vanish in the second half of the game against Ballard and nearly storming back in the final quarter against Dallas Center-Grimes, the Tigers are going to be working on one of the toughest tasks in sports…closing out a close game.

While it was a tale of two different endings, both Friday nights game against Ballard and Saturday’s game against DC-G bring about the need to finish strong. ADM head coach Aaron Mager talks about finishing games as a big point of emphasis going forward.

“We need to continue to work on in practice late game situational basketball for the fourth quarter and let’s learn to play patiently,” explained coach Mager.

Aggressiveness late in games is the aspect that can often present problems for most teams. A team wants to be aggressive but not too overly aggressive which would cause simple mistakes to run wild. Coach Mager wants the aggressiveness but wants it in moderation.

“As a player I want them to stay aggressive but there’s that fine line in the fourth quarter,” stated coach Mager.

The Tigers will have time over the holiday break to relax and work on their late game situations just in time for their match up on January 5th when they travel to Perry to take on the Blue Jays.
