Nearly 30 girls are out for basketball during the first week of official practice for the Greene County Rams. Dean Lyons is in his first season heading the program, although he’s a veteran basketball coach and was an assistant last season to then-head coach Chad Morton. Jeff Lamoureux and Jessica Ott are the assistant coaches.

Activities Director Dean Lansman commented about the number of girls out in grades 9-12. “That’s a good number, and it’s probably up from the past couple of years.” The Rams open the season on Tuesday, Nov. 24 in the middle school gym in Jefferson vs. PCM (Monroe). Coach Lansman talked about how quickly that date will be here. “That will come up pretty quickly and that’s why the girls do start a week earlier than the boys.”

KG98 will have the play-by-play of Greene County HS girls and boys basketball again this season, including the Nov. 24 girls’ varsity game.
