Each year, City governments decide when children will trick-or-treat.

Several Dallas County communities will host Beggar’s Night on Halloween, but some have opted to move it up a day.

Perry and Granger residents and businesses will both welcome costumed kids to their door for candy on Friday from 6-8pm but Adel, Dallas Center, DeSoto, Minburn, Redfield and Woodward will all hold their city-wide trick-or-treat events Saturday evening.

Sheriff Chad Leonard encourages those participating in the annual tradition to carry a cell phone or flashlight with them and travel in groups.  He also asks parents to inspect their children’s items when they return home.
