The ADM Volleyball team on Monday night learned of its opponent for the second round of the Class 4A playoffs, and it was nearly a team the Tigers didn’t expect to see.

No. 6 Lewis Central survived a scare against No. 10 Glenwood at Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, coming back from down 2 sets to 1 to win in five sets in the opening round of the Class 4A playoffs.

The Titans (30-5) took set one 25-17, before falling in the next two, 27-25 and 25-21. Lewis Central then rallied to a 25-18 fourth set victory and match clincher in set No. 5, 15-8.

Because of the team’s first-round playoff bye ADM (20-16) last played on Thursday, when it upset then-No. 10 Carroll in five sets. The Tigers will take on Lewis Central at 7 p.m. Thursday in Council Bluffs for a trip to the regional finals in Region 3.

The Titans ended ADM’s 2014 season in the regional finals, rallying from down 2 sets to 1 to beat the Tigers in five sets.
