Greene County High School head football coach Dean Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio senior quarterback Daric Whipple is not expected to play tonight when the Rams go to Humboldt for a Class 3A District 2 game. The coach said the standout QB has been in and out of the hospital this week due to complications from flu-like symptoms. In Whipple’s absence, the Rams could try a variety of players and tactics, including the “Wildcat” formation. Whipple has thrown for 10 touchdowns and run for nine more and has accounted for 90% of the Rams’ yards from scrimmage either by passing or running.
Humboldt is celebrating homecoming tonight. The Wildcats are 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the district while the Rams are 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the district.
The game will be broadcast on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
