A fall tradition that honors a talented musician will continue this year in Perry.

The 37th annual William Bell Memorial Tuba and Euphonium Day will take place Saturday, November 7th.

Perry Fine Arts promoter Duane Griffin says this is unlike most of their programs.

“This is a participatory kind of thing.  It’s a clinic.  You can come in in the afternoon and if you play tuba a little bit, come in and get some lessons and then they have a public performance at 4:00.  Part of the afternoon is spent practicing for the concert.  Anybody level is welcome to come.”

Also that afternoon, organizer Cathy Clark says the group will gather at the Violet Hill Cemetery where Bell is buried to play and further honor him.

The performance will take place at the First United Methodist Church.  There’s no set cost to attend but donations go to support future Perry Fine Arts events.
