1020194_web_habitat-for-humanity-new-logoHeart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity has been operating in Guthrie County for less than eight months.

Associate Director Jeff Lamoureux says in that time period they’ve completed Helping Hands volunteer home repair projects in Stuart, Guthrie Center and Panora. He says it was easy to hit the ground running here because of the generous nature of Guthrie County residents. “In Guthrie County we kind of had a feeling we would have  good success, but you just never know until we have that first workday to see who comes out and we couldn’t have been more pleased. We had a great amount of volunteers and great enthusiasm throughout the three projects in Guthrie County.”

The public is invited to visit the three Helping Hands home repair project locations at an open house Sunday. It will take place at 1:30 p.m. at 301 Park Street in Guthrie Center, at 2:30 p.m. at 311 NE 5th Street in Panora and 3:30 p.m. at 701 Fremont Street in Stuart.
