Scarecrows will begin to appear in downtown Guthrie Center this week.

Main Street Director Julie Bailey says beginning Thursday, businesses can begin to display their decorated scarecrows. “Get creative and come up with a scarecrow that can be placed either in the window of the business, on the sidewalk or on one of the benches we have downtown. To just have some fun dressing them up and getting our downtown looking festive for the Halloween season.”

Bailey says ballots will be available inside of the businesses and anybody can vote on their favorite scarecrow.
