Greene County will be a main highlight for this weekend’s Pedaler’s Jamboree.

The two-day event take place on the Raccoon River Valley Trail this Saturday and Sunday.  Director Mike Denehy says bicyclists will start from Waukee at 8am on Saturday and head up to Jefferson for an overnight stop and then arrive back in Waukee Sunday afternoon.

The two stops along the trail in Greene County include Cooper and Jefferson.  Greene County Conservation Director Dan Towers says in Cooper, there will be a stage about 30-feet from the trail at the location of the old grain elevator.  Molly Gene-the One Whoaman Band will perform at 2pm and Decadent Nation will play at 3:30pm.

From there, participants can ride up to Jefferson to the fairgrounds where four bands will perform.  Denehy describes some of the details that evening.

“Inside the grandstands, inside the arena, we’re going to have a big hydraulic stage with three headlining bands.  That show will go on for a while and people are encouraged to explore Jefferson, check out the restaurants and stores and have a good time with it.”

The bands start playing around 7pm with Dirtfoot from Louisiana, followed by That 1 Guy at 8:15pm and the headliner, Eufoquestra at 9:45pm.  The final band, The Flood Brothers, goes on at 11:15pm.  Participants can camp out at the fairgrounds and will head back to Waukee Sunday morning following breakfast.

Those that just want to check out the bands at the fairgrounds, can pay a reduced ticket price.  Check out the link below for more information.
