The new Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce Director started in the position just two days before the group’s largest event of the year. In fact, it the first Sweet Corn Festival she had ever attended but Deb Bengtson says she was impressed with how smoothly it works.

“I got thrown into the fire.  It was great! It was great to see the festival, just sit back and watch it.  The amount of volunteer hours that go into that festival is mindboggling.  It made you realize how cool Adel is and how people are so proud that live in Adel and call it home.”

Since then, Bengtson says she has spent a lot of her time getting out and meeting the local chamber members and being able to match faces with names.  She says there are some really cool stories in Adel of people that have been in business there a long time and it’s neat to start meeting the public.
