The State Fair has ended and Guthrie County residents are bringing home lots of awards. Extension Youth Coordinator Mollie Clark says a high percentage of local static entries garnered impressive accolades. “We had 32 exhibits advance onto the State Fair, from static. Out of those, 25 got a blue ribbon at the State Fair, which is fantastic. We had seven red ribbons, which is still a great showing representing Guthrie County. We had one special award from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, awarded to Cale Rutledge for the compost barrel he made.”
Clark will tell us more about the State Fair and also preview next month’s county fair, today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
