Those who frequent Wiese Park in Perry will soon have a better lit path along the way.
As we recently reported, the City of Perry received $25,000 from the Wiese Foundation to improve the pathway lighting.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says this will be a nice addition to a popular park.
“That’ll be nice new LED lighting. It really is a better light that spread more of a wider light, so it picks up more of the walking trail. Hopefully walkers enjoy that our there. I know in the winter months days are short so the lights out there are really helpful with that.”
The new fixtures will be attached to the existing poles in the park. A bid from Wolin Electric was approved in the amount of $23,000 at Monday’s Council meeting. Peterson says the contract says the project needs to be completed by March but he believes it will be finished before then.
