Guthrie-Co.-Iowa-DeputyThe Guthrie County Sheriff’s office is asking the public’s help with a recent rash of vehicle burglaries.

According to the Sheriff’s office, about 11 vehicles have had items stolen from them since Friday in the Casey and Menlo areas.  While it was mostly money taken, the most recent incident involved a rifle and a laptop stolen from a vehicle in Casey.

The Sheriff’s office believes the suspected thefts take place during the overnight hours and are concentrated on White Pole Road between Casey and Menlo.  The victim’s vehicles were unlocked and are mostly on the street or at curbside parking.

The Sheriff’s office reminds everyone to keep their vehicles locked and do not leave any valuables inside.
