On Friday, Raccoon Valley Radio told you about some of the changes to the ADM football coaching staff.

One of the more intriguing additions to the Tigers’ staff is Chris Ocak, a first-time football coach at any level whose background is heavier in rugby than in football.

Ocak will teach social studies in the ADM district, and said he hopes his rugby experience will translate to teaching proper tackling technique.

For now, though, Ocak said he will primarily work with freshman offensive linemen. Much like what he hopes his students will do for him, he said he’s going to study up on offensive line technique.

“I’m already starting to look into things, talk with the coach about plays, looking online at different offenses, and just generally trying to develop my knowlege,” Ocak said.

The Tigers open the season August 28 at Perry.
