Perry Chamber Hosting Teacher Appreciation Breakfast Monday
Though students start class on Monday the 24th in the Perry School District, teachers will be there starting next week to make sure everything is ready to go.
The Perry Chamber Board of Directors will greet staff from across the district with a free Teacher Appreciation Breakfast Monday morning.
“We just let them meet the Chamber Board and let them know we’re here to partner with them in any way that we can to help promote the community and the community school district. (After breakfast) we get a few moments to introduce ourselves at the beginning of the whole assembly and everything else just basically to remind them that we are here, we are a resource and encourage them to kindly continue to support the local amenities. To shop local and really just get involved with the group.”
That’s Executive Director Bob Wilson who says the partnership between the Chamber and the Schools is crucial for the success of the community.
This year’s breakfast is being donated by the Hotel Pattee.

Greg and Lori Kautzky live on the farm five miles south of Perry that was established by Greg’s grandfather who purchased the 80 acres in 1899.
The event, which takes place Sunday afternoon, is an outdoor mass that gives both urban and rural residents the chance to come together and celebrate their role in the Catholic diocese.
The mass will begin at 2pm at 18443 195th Street with refreshments to follow along with a presentation by columnist Chuck Offenburger.

Volunteers Needed to Help with Inaugural Perry Cruuze
With less than a week left to go before the inaugural Perry Cruuze, some extra hands are still needed to make sure the event is successful.
Organizer Dave Wright says he’s looking for volunteers for several different aspects of the event.
“We have to have people there to help register car owners then they come in. We also need to have people stationed on the streets to protect the cars and also to help the owners as far as the car placements are concerned. I need help with placing barricades. I need help with distributing fliers. There’s a lot of things people can do if they want to get involved with the event.”
Wright says he’s also looking for a few non-partial judges to help determine award winners.
If you’d like to volunteer, you can call Wright at 240-7281.
