IMG_2670Today is the last chance for Dallas, Guthrie and Adair county residents who experienced uninsured damages as the result of the late June thunderstorms to take advantage of available relief funds.

Governor Terry Branstad issued a disaster proclamation after several inches of rain resulted in flooding across 17 Iowa counties the week of June 20th.  Today is the deadline to submit an application for the state’s Individual Assistance Program, which provides up to $5,000 in reimbursement funds for households that have an income of less than double the federal poverty level.  These monies can be used for home or car repairs, replacement of clothing or food or for the expense of temporary housing.

In order to apply, residents need to have original receipts and fill out an application form that can be found HERE.  Applications then need to be dropped off or mailed to your local New Opportunities office.
