School starts in the Perry Community School District on Monday, August 24th and construction crews are working to get projects completed before students return.
Arguably the district’s largest project of the summer is the new parking lot at the elementary school.
Superintendent Lynn Ubben asks parents to bare with them as they determine the best flow for traffic.
“It’ll be a little bit of a work in progress because things will be different, transportation will be different. We’re meeting with (Perry Police) Chief (Eric) Vaughn and (police officer) Pat Jans and our transportation department, so be a little patient because we’ll want to work through this. You know, we want this project to be safe for our kids and the community and the busses. So give us a little time to work through this.”
Ubben says the District will likely wait on installing signage until they determine the best pattern for all types of traffic.
We’ll have more with the Superintendent on today’s Let’s Talk Dallas County during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours on AM 1310 KDLS and the new 99.7 FM.
