It was a wild, celebratory weekend in Jefferson with the official opening of Wild Rose and Cobblestone Hotel and Suites.

Each business held its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday.  The public got an upclose look at the 37,000-square foot, $5.3 million hotel.  Then everyone was treated to another ribbon-cutting ceremony at Wild Rose.  Several speakers joined the stage with dignitaries from Wild Rose Entertainment, to the management staff of the entertainment complex, to political figures like Governor Terry Branstad and United States Senator Charles Grassley.

Senator Grassley applauds the local support that the residents showed to get a new piece of economic development.

“A community like this get something when they have local initiative.  This (Wild Rose) wouldn’t be here if local people hadn’t sought out the investment it takes here.  So, it’s a congratulations to the people of Greene County and of Jefferson.”

Wild Rose broke ground at the northwest corner of US Highway 30 and Iowa Highway 4 on July 10, 2014 for the 40,000-square foot, $40 million facility.
