Entering their second year as an 8 man football team, the Guthrie Center Tigers are ranked 17th out of 64 8 man teams in the state, according to BC Moore’s preseason power rankings. The Tigers, who finished last year with a successful record of 7-3, have lost many of their weapons since then. Gone is the power rushing duo of Austin Laabs and Cale Crowder, who combined for over 2600 yards on the ground last year. Leading receiver Lane Rumelhart has also graduated. Senior TJ Wickland should provide some spark at quarterback and junior Cade Suhr looks promising on defense. The Tigers begin their season with a trip to Stanton on August 28th.
