The Stuart Lions Club has a new leader. Bob Cook took the position of president at August’s monthly meeting on Monday. Cook says he enjoys taking part in all of the Lions’ annual activities, including manning the concession stand at Good Egg Days and Scoop the Loop events and hosting this year’s Culpepper and Merriweather Circus. Pat Sargent is one of the newest members of the Stuart Lions Club and says he was drawn in by the international camaraderie of the group. “I think it’s a great way to get involved. Lions is not something that’s just in Stuart, Iowa. It’s a network of over 1.4 million men and women dedicated to making a difference both locally and globally. To be part of something that big worldwide is rewarding.”
The Stuart Lions Club has over 30 registered members and has been chartered since January, 2008.
