voteAdults across Dallas County will be able to vote at any of the 10 available voter centers next Tuesday as they cast their special election ballots.

This may be different from your normal polling place as the number of sites has been limited.  Sheriff Chad Leonard says as always, the voting locations are decided by the County Auditor’s office.

“I think when (Auditor Gene Krumm) was reviewing this the last time it came to ballot, several of these voting locations only had a dozen voters show up.  So when you have to find volunteers to man those polling locations for 10 to 12 hours, it costs a lot of money plus a lot of time.  So when there’s only one issue, (Krumm) and his staff came up with these 10 locations.”

The voting centers in Perry, Adel, Redfield, Granger, Dallas Center, Van Meter, Waukee, Clive and West Des Moines will be open from 7am to 8pm August 4th.  Absentee ballots can still be requested by mail through a form HERE.  They must be postmarked back to the Auditor’s office by Monday, August 3rd.
